Celebrating Excellence in Community Safety and Gender Justice Advocacy

The Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps (AVC), Warri Zonal Command, witnessed a remarkable event as the Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Hon. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, was honored with the “Excellent Defender of Community Safety and Security” award. The award was presented by Chief Amb. Mrs. Mercy Alakis Awhana, the Gender Justice State Director, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to grassroots security and the empowerment of AVC volunteers.
Following the award presentation, the Zonal Commander, Justice Afor Tuoyo, delivered an inspiring appreciation speech. He commended the Chairman for his unwavering commitment not only to empowering volunteers but also to his numerous developmental efforts aimed at making Warri great again. He highlighted key projects such as the provision of street lights and other initiatives that facilitate community safety.
The Zonal Commander emphasized that the volunteers are proud to have Hon. Isaac as their Chairman. He further pledged the unwavering support of the volunteers in working closely with the local government to ensure the utmost safety and security of Warri South.
Using this medium, the Zonal Commander also encouraged other local governments across Delta State to emulate the exemplary leadership of the Warri South Local Government. He urged them to prioritize community safety and to support volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain peace and security in their communities. By doing so, he emphasized, a safer and more prosperous Delta State can be achieved.
This momentous event underscores the collaborative effort between the local government and the AVC in fostering peace, security, and community development. Together, they are setting a benchmark for grassroots governance and volunteerism in Delta State.
